Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Richmond Edison

Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity defeated Richmond Edison 4-1 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at zero with Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Makayla Loveless doubled off of Smith, driving in two runs.

Makayla Loveless earned the win for Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity. She tossed seven innings, allowing one run, eight hits, and striking out eight. Smith took the loss for Richmond Edison. She pitched six innings, allowing four runs, ten hits, striking out four, and walking zero.
