The Cardinals posted a statement victory against local rivals Tusky Valley yesterday in a 5 o’clock kick-off that saw the intensity of the game match the humid conditions. The Cardinals took the lead and held it until half time after Bryce Stenger converted a chance that fell to him inside of the Trojan box. The contest escalated in the second half as the Trojans pulled back a goal to tie up the game. However, the Cardinals rallied again and another excellent delivery by Ty Lumbert from a set-piece saw a cushioned lay off by Kanyon McCort be drilled home from the edge of the box by Jamon McCort. Tempers flared from both sides in the closing minutes but the Cardinals were resolute in defense and saw out the game to post another win and improve to 8-1 on the year. Next up is Chippewa on Saturday in a home match that kicks off @10am.
