The Cardinal Wrestlers traveled to Northwest last evening to take on Northwest and Tuslaw in a triangular meet. The Cardinals posted a 1-1 record defeating Northwest 54-18 and losing to Tuslaw 63-18 bringing the dual meet record to 6-1 on the season. Leading the way for the Cards were Joshua Newell and Reece Franks both earning two pins. Tommy Russell also collected two wins via forfeit. Going 1-1 for the Cards were Cooper Hemming, Jacob Newell, Cameron Blair, Lake Kuczika, Justin Kirkpatrick, and Randy Johnson.” I thought we wrestled fair at best.” “When we are faced with tough opponents like Tuslaw we tend to have our weaknesses exposed and we wrestled below our ability level. We are maturing throughout the season being such a young squad. With that being said, it is inevitable that we will make some crucial mistakes and have to learn from them. Embracing the challenge of wrestling well against tough opponents is certainly one of our growing pains”, Donahue explains. The Cardinals will travel to Shadyside this weekend to compete in a pool tournament on Saturday @ 9am.
