Garaway Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory
Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-1 loss to Garaway on Thursday. Garaway took the lead on a single in the first inning.
The Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Garaway, giving up 11 runs.
Garaway fired up the offense in the first inning. I Tetreault singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Garaway scored seven runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by Garaway was led by M Petitte, Tetreault, A Proper, S Gerber, J Shoup, and Petitte, all driving in runs in the frame.
Tetreault was the winning pitcher for Garaway. The fireballer lasted six innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out seven and walking one.
Hannah Deford took the loss for Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing 13 hits and 11 runs while striking out two and walking one.
Lilly Shepler went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity in hits.
