Strasburg Tigers Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory
Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-1 loss to Strasburg Tigers on Friday. Strasburg Tigers took the lead on a groundout in the second inning.
The Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Strasburg Tigers, giving up ten runs.
Strasburg Tigers got things started in the second inning when A Downin grounded out, scoring one run.
Strasburg Tigers scored three runs in the fifth inning. T Alleshouse and H Reifenschneider all drove in runs in the frame.
Z Thomas earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Strasburg Tigers. She surrendered one run on four hits over seven innings, striking out two and walking one.
Arianna Ott took the loss for Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity. She lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out one and walking zero.
Tori Sickafoose led Sandy Valley Cardinals Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
Strasburg Tigers totaled 11 hits. A Ray, Alleshouse, E Clark, and Reifenschneider each collected multiple hits for Strasburg Tigers. Ray went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Strasburg Tigers in hits.
