Tuesday night, the Lady Cardinals hosted a quad meet at home against Claymont, Malvern and TCC. Sandy Valley finished with 52.5 points placing 3rd. Despite the windy conditions our athletes worked hard and participated in multiple events to add to the Cardinal effort. Winning events for Sandy Valley were: Baylee Offenberger in high jump, Meghan Hughes in the pole vault, Mercedes Sarver in the 1600 meter run, and our 4 x 800 meter relay team of Mercedes and Kiannah Sarver, Kaylee Nichols and Christine Lawver. The Lady Cardinals also had several second place finishers in Meghan Hughes in the 200 meter dash, Kye Mastri in pole vault, and Regan Finnicum in shot put. Jasmine Shoemaker placed third in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Mercedes Sarver, Kiannah Sarver, Baylee Offenberger and Meghan Hughes also finished third.To round out the Cardinal placers, Olivia Crone finished 4th in the discus and Kylee Campbell finished 5th in the 100 meter hurdles. Great effort, ladies! The Cardinals are back on the track on Friday at Canton South for the Carrollton Invitational.
