The Lady Cards battled the cold to run, jump and throw against Ridgewood and Newcomerstown on Tuesday. Unfortunately, Sandy Valley came up a little short, placing third, with 51 points. Ridgewood won the competition with 62 points, and Newcomerstown took second place with 55 points. Every week the program continues to grow stronger and to improve. The top four places scored during the meet. The following Sandy Valley athletes scored for the Cardinals: Athletes placing first were: Baylee Offenberger (high jump), the team of Mercedes and Kiannah Sarver, Kaylee Nichols and Christine Lawver (4 x 800m), Kiannah Sarver (1600 m), Christine Lawver (3200 m), Halie Sciury (200 m), and the team of Mercedes and Kiannah Sarver, Halie Sciury and Andrea Frank (4 x 400 m). Second place finishers were: Mercedes Sarver (1600 m), the team of Halie Sciury, Alicia and Olivia Costello, and Andrea Frank (4 x 100 m), Ruby Behm (400 m), and Alana Hill (shot put), and the team of Halie Sciury, Ruby Behm and Olivia and Alicia Costello (4 x 200 m). Third place finishers included: Julie Muller (high jump), Kye Mastri (300 hurdles), and Olivia Crone (discus). Finally, the following athletes were fourth place finishers: Juliana Borsellino (discus), Andrea Frank (100 m), Meghan Hughes (200 m), and Maggie Lampe (300 hurdles). Great job, Cardinals!
